MISSION STATEMENT
Inner City Youth Group is devoted to providing youth, ranging from ages 5 through 24, with resources that will facilitate them achieving at their full potential through secure and nurturing environments, continuing relationships, high ethical and certified standards.
VISION STATEMENT
Provide “Safety, Permanency and Well-being” for all youth placed in the care of Inner City Youth Group by offering a comprehensive liberating training curriculum that will include teaching responsible roles, money management , job search techniques, educational activities, college and career planning, and supervised independent living.
PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
Inner City Youth Group is a non-profit foster care group home, child-placing agency and youth guidance center. We compliment and value the youth we support as distinctive individuals ranging from ages 5 through 17. We provide safety, permanency and well-being for all children placed in our care. Inner City Youth Group offers training curriculum, which consist of two distinct transitional phases; adolescents and teenage living. Children between the ages of 5 through 12 are in the adolescent phase. This phase is designed to help the children cope with their emotional challenges and educational training. The next phase is the teenage phase for youth between the ages of 13 through 17. This phase will provide teenage living. This phase has a continuous focus on teenagers pursuing college and/or careers.
For many individuals, the pain of a collapse in the family is overwhelming. They have suffered a horrific loss and incorporating the loss with their essential daily living is very difficult to do. Inner City Youth Group offers care, guidance and treatment to help them cope with any pain the individuals must absorb through the process of reunification with families. Our first priority is reunification, which is reuniting children with their biological families. If reuniting the children with their biological families is not promising, our facility compromises support services to facilitate permanent residence unless adoption is established. Our hope is that the individuals can make progress and eventually reunite their families or succeed with a foster care family.
Within our program, we will strive to create life long relationships with our children ensuring a successful adulthood. Inner City Youth Group offers short and long term living arrangements to administer children within Michigan. After the youth completes the, Inner City Youth Group program, they will have the life skills and training necessary for supervised independent living which would allow a successful transition into a productive independent young adulthood.
